Last week, as he did on other occasions too, AMG boss Volker Mornhinweg announced that the "the horsepower war is over". However, RENNtech boss, Hartmut Feyhl doe not agree as it has announced the RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren. The RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren, developed to celebrate the company's 20th Anniversary, will output 777 hp and will be built in a limited edition.

The RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren is described by the tuner as being a complete new street-legal track car, based on the standard carbon fiber chassis. It will have a new aerodynamic body work including a new big wing, splitters, and skirts. The RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren is expected to have a top speed above the 210 mph mark.

The RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren will be powered by a heavily modified version of the 5.5 L supercharged Kompressor V8 engine and will feature a revised suspension and driveline, the tuner's own limited slip differential.

The RENNtech 777 Mercedes SLR McLaren price has not been announced yet, but the company says it will build only 20 of them.
