The first Cadillac ATS info has surfaced the web as the new model was caught testing in the United States. Unfortunately, the vehicle doing runs on the test track was not the actual Cadillac ATS, but a mule used to fool prying eyes. Most sources believe the new Cadillac ATS will be GM's weapon against the BMW 3 Series. However, the Munchen manufacturer does not need to get concerned just yet, as the Cadillac ATS is expected to go on the market sometime in 2013 or 2014.
The Cadillac ATS will have a shorter wheelbase in comparison to the CTS and will be based on the company's new Alpha platform. The will be a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sedan that will have the same chassis as the next generation Camaro and CTS.
At this point there are no details available regarding the Cadillac ATS engine options, but then again, the car is in its early stages of development.
