Cadillac Ciel

Cadillac revealed today at the Pebble Beach the new Ciel concept, which is an open-air grand-touring car, inspired by, well... California. The name of the new concept, Ciel, comes from French, where it means "sky". GM says that their new Caddy is inspired by the historical grandeur of the first Cadillac models, and that it represents a celebration of the company's heritage. Measuring 5174 mm in length, 1968 mm in width and 1270 mm in height, the Cadillac Ciel has a 3175 mm wheelbase. To power the new Ciel concept, Cadillac uses a 3.6-liter V6 DOHC engine with continuously variable valve timing and direct injection, which is equipped with a twin turbocharging system. Cadillac's specifications of the Ciel say it outputs 425 hp (317 kW) and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) of torque.

The Cadillac Ciel is equipped with a hybrid transmission featuring a low-speed all-electric drive.

Some of the design features of the Ciel concept, which remind us of the previous Cadillacs, include the aluminum windshield frame, the shield grille and the vertical lighting headlights. some of the more modern design features of the Ciel include the huge 22-inch rims, which hide carbon ceramic brake discs, and the LED lights.

The interior of the Ciel Caddy features minimalist instrument gauges with dual readouts, analog and digital, unique seats, Bluetooth connectivity, a power-assisted transmission shifter ambient lighting and one feature that we're sure no other modern vehicle offers: pull-out blankets for all passengers.

We're not really sure of Cadillac will ever put the Ciel into production, but we'd definitely like to own one.
