Cadillac Ciel Into Production

 »  »  »

Various sources are reporting today that General Motors is seriously considering putting the Cadillac Ciel into production. The Cadillac Ciel had its world debut at this year's Pebble Beach, where it was an absolute show-stopper. The Ciel could be Cadillac's return to its days of luxury and glamour. A production version of the Cadillac Ciel could put GM's brand back on the super- premium market segment, where it hasn't been for decades.

If it will ever go into production, the Ciel will be Cadillac's flagship model. It's not clear at the moment if it will be a convertible, or if they'll go for a sedan version. In any case, it will be a big, expensive and extremely desirable car.

Some of the design features of the Pebble Beach concept will disappear in the production model, but the general feel of the vehicle will be preserved.

The Cadillac Ciel show car measures more than 5 meters in length and it's powered by a 3.6-liter V6 DOHC engine with an output of 425 hp and 583 Nm of torque.
