Caterham revealed today a special edition version of the Seven 250 R, which is designed by Kamui Kobayashi, one of the carmaker's Formula 1 drivers. The Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayashi is going to be built in just ten units, and it is priced at 6,000,000 YEN (including local taxes). Caterham is going to sell Kamui Kobayashi's Seven on the Japanese market only. The Caterham Seven 250 R Kamui Kobayashi is powered by a 1.6 Ford Sigma engine that develops 125bhp. Even though this doesn't seem like much, thanks to a low weight, the Caterham Seven Kobayashi is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 5.9 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 122 mph. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, a limited slip differential and a rear-wheel-drive system.

Kobayashi's Caterham Seven features a high-gloss black paint with matt black sport stripes, a 10 badge on its nose, and front wings and rear wing protectors that are finished in green carbon. Kobayashi's Seven is a single seater. The passenger side features an aluminum tonneau cover. It also features a single-sided rollover hoop fixed to the rear bulkhead, 13-inch diamond cut black wheels, and a polished chrome exhaust.

At the interior, the Caterham Seven Kobayashi features a green carbon fiber dashboard, a carbon sport bucket seat, and a Takata 4-point harness. There are also special gauge inlays, an anodized green gear knob and anodized green key.
