Lotus officially announced today that it's now the owner of Caterham Cars. With this occasion, Caterham launched a special edition Seven, branded with Lotus' colors. Called the Caterham Seven Team Lotus Special Edition and based on the Superlight R500 model, the new version will be available in only 25 units. Caterham's Lotus Seven is powered by a 263 bhp engine and is able to reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Apart from the traditional green and yellow colors of Lotus, the new special edition Seven will feature a range of other bespoke Team Lotus items. The Caterham Seven Lotus comes with an invitation to a customized tour of the Team Lotus F1 factory in Hingham, Norfolk, and a special plaque signed by Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen.
The new owners of a Caterham Seven Lotus will also receive a Seven history book signed by chief designer, Mike Gascoyne.
Caterham prices the Lotus package for the Seven at 3,000 GBP.
