Caterham revealed today the new Seven 620R, which replaces the R500. The Caterham 620R is going to have its world debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend (July 12-14). The new 620R Caterham Seven is powered by a supercharged 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine that puts out 311bhp at 7,700rpm and 219lb-ft of torque at 7,350rpm. Even though this might not seem as much, thanks a very low weight, the Caterham 620R Seven is able to rocket from zero to 60 mph in just 2.79 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 155 mph. So far, Caterham did not announce the power-to-weight of the new Seven 620R. The Caterham 620R Seven comes equipped as standard with a 6-speed sequential transmission with flat-shift, a limited slip diff, a gunmetal chassis, carbon wings, a race-grade cooling package and an aerodynamically optimized nose cone.

The Caterham 620R sits on a De-Dion rear suspension with high performance dampers, and an adjustable double wishbone front suspension with an anti-roll bar. The 620R Seven is also fitted with ventilated front discs and 4-piston calipers, 13-inch wheels with AVON ZZR tires.

At the interior, the Caterham 620R features a carbon dashboard and other panels, carbon-fiber racing seats, 4-point race harnesses, a Q/R racing steering wheel, and high performance focused instrumentation and ergonomic switchgear. Caterham also fits the 620R Seven with an immobilizer, sequential shift lights, and a carbon aero screen.

The Caterham 620R's price is set at £49,995 (including VAT). The carmaker is going to start delivering the 620R later this year.
