LEGOLAND designers have decided to offer a scale version of the Caterham R500 in LEGO parts, complete with the Top Gear crew and the famous Stig. The 40 million-brick MINILAND is now thew host of Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, plus the elusive Stig together with the Caterham Superlight R500.
The Caterham Superlight R500 is priced at around 38,000 GBP, but offers similar levels of performance with the 1 million GBP Bugatti Veyron.
Guy Bagley, LEGOLAND’S chief model maker, said: “My colleague remembered that the Stig had put the R500 through its paces and how incredible it was on the track. It’s such a timeless and iconic car that it was a ‘no-brainer’ as our
choice for the motorsport area, having already decided to feature Top Gear. Its design lends itself particularly well to our bricks, too.”
