Caterham revealed today the new Seven Supersport R, which comes with a larger 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine and an output of 180 bhp. Apart from the extra power, the Caterham Supersport R also features track-bred dynamics, a five-speed transmission and a limited-slip differential. The Supersport R is meant to sit just above its 1.6-liter Seven sibling in Caterham's model range. The new engine of the Caterham Supersport R has been developed for over three years, while it was in use in the R300 championship. The new model weighs 535kg and it comes equipped with Avon CR500 tires, special dampers and race springs. For the interior of the Supersport R, Caterham is offering a bespoke steering wheel with an integrated change-up light, composite bucket seats with four-point race harnesses, and an aero screen.

The Caterham Supersport R's price is set £24,995 GBP if you want to buy it and build it yourself at home. If not, you can get it fully-built, but it's going to cost you £27,995 GBP.

Apart from announcing the new Supersport R, Caterham also disclosed the fact that they're currently working with Renault for developing an everyday sportscar. They also hope that they're new partnership with Renault is going to spawn new models in the future.
