Mercedes revealed today the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive boat concept, which is inspired by the electric version of the SLS coupe. The world debut of the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive is going to take place at the Miami International Boat Show (14-18 February 2013). Mercedes says that many components of the electric SLS made into the Cigarette AMG speedboat, which develops 1656 kW and 3,000 Nm of torque. This makes it the world's most powerful and fastest electrically driven motor boat. The Cigarette AMG Electric Drive is 38 foot (11.6 meter) long and it's powered by two drive units, each featuring six independent liquid-cooled permanent-magnet synchronous motors. Each unit comes with its own transmission.

Mercedes says that all this power enables the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive to hit a top speed of more than 99 mph (approx. 160 km/h). Even though this doesn't seem like much, you have to remember that this takes place on water.

The liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries of the Cigarette AMG Electric Drive have a total capacity of 240 kW hours and an output of 2,400 kW. They can be fully recharged in seven hours. Mercedes did not disclose the maxim range of their new speedboat.
