As we anticipated yesterday, Citroen revealed today the cabriolet version of the stylish DS3. The world premiere of the Citroen DS3 Cabrio is going to take place at the 2012 Paris auto show next month. Citroen says that it will put the new DS3 cabriolet on sale early next year, however, the carmaker did not announce its price. The DS3 Cabrio's party piece is obviously its roof, which comes in three colors: black, Infini blue and DS Monogramme. The DS3 Cabrio's electrically maneuverable roof, which can be opened or closed in just 16 seconds, can be operated at speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The Citroen DS3 Cabrio has the same dimensions as the hatchback (3.95 m long, 1.71 m wide and 1.46 m high).

Two of its distinctive exterior design features include the LED daytime running lights at the front and the 3D LED tail lights, inspired by the Revolte and Survolt concept cars.

The cabriolet version of the Citroen DS3 is going to be available with the same engine options as the hatchback. Right from the launch, you'll be able to buy a version which emits just 99 g/km of CO2.

At the interior, Citroen's DS3 cabrio features a ceiling-mounted console featuring LED ambiance lighting, which controls the opening / closing of the foldable roof. The Citroen DS3 Cabrio features a 245-litre luggage compartment, and a 60/40 split-folding rear bench.

Usually, convertible versions are around 100 kg heavier than their hard-top counterparts; however, Citroen says that the DS3 cabrio is only 25 kg heavier than the hatchback. This means that the cabriolet retains most of the handling characteristics of the hatch, including its performance and agility. To give the same body rigidity as the hatch, Citroen gave the DS3 cabrio various structural reinforcements around the boot.
