To mark the 125th birthday of the motor car, Mercedes launched today a new collection of classic scale models. It includes legendary Mercedes vehicles produced by the Stuttgart-based premium brand since its beginnings. The classic Mercedes models come in a 1:43 scale which allows for a very good replication of each detail.
The new scale model collection includes the first ever motor car, the Benz Patent Motor Car from 1886, which was produced by Mercedes. The 40 hp Mercedes Simplex from 1902 is also included. This was the first vehicle to introduce the basic elements of the modern car. Other models include the 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Special Roadster, the 1955 300 SL Gullwing Coupe, a 1972 S Class and the latest generation CLS.
The new miniatures from Mercedes will be produced in limited numbers (a total of 1,250 units). They come in special box packaging together with a booklet on the history of the vehicle. Mercedes prices one of their classic scale models at 49.90 EUR.
