Dacia Lodgy Glace

The Dacia Lodgy Glace was premiered last night, previewing Renault's new family car. The production version Dacia Lodgy will have its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March next year, and it will go on sale soon after. Renault previews the Dacia Lodgy the same way it did with the Duster - by showing a racing version developed for the Andros Trophy. The Andros Trophy is a racing series ice-racing series, in which the Lodgy Glace will be driven by Alain Prost, Nicolas Prost and Evens Stievenar.

Renault's Dacia Lodgy Glace measures 4,001mm in length, 1,900mm in width, has a 2,500mm wheelbase and weighs 950kg. Of course, the production version of the Renault Lodgy will be heavier than that.

The Dacia Lodgy Glace is powered by a 3.0-liter (2,987cc) 24-valve V6 engine, with an output of 257 kW (355 hp) at 7,500 rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The Lodgy Glace racecar has a mid-engine / all-wheel-drive architecture. The production version of the Lodgy however, will have its engine mounted in the front. The commercially available Dacia Lodgy will probably not benefit from the limited slip differentials and the SADEV 6-speed sequential transmission of the Glace either. The complete technical details of the Dacia Lodgy Glace racecar are available in this pdf.

The Lodgy will be the first ever MPV marketed by Renault under the Dacia brand. We expect it to be very "reasonable" priced, as are all the other models of the brand, including the Duster, Logan and Sandero. However, we expect the Dacia Lodgy's price to reflect its performance and built quality. We highly doubt that the Lodgy will be sold with a V6 engine. We expect the MPV to come with 4-0cylinder petrol and diesel units and with a front-wheel-drive system. An optional AWD system might be available.

We'll have more details on Renault's Lodgy Dacia as soon as they're available.
