EDO Koenigsegg CCR EVO 817

EDO Competition has revealed today their upgrade program for the Koenigsegg CCR which they call the EVO 817. Sometimes we just can't understand why people would want to customize a vehicle that's already very rare and unique, like a Koenigsegg. Is true that EDO's EVO 817 is mostly a power upgrade, but the Koenigsegg CCR has more than enough hp as standard. We guess owners get used to the acceleration sensation offered by such a potent supercar after a while, and want to get that feeling back. This is why they go for more horsepower.

EDO's EVO 817 program for the Koenigsegg CCR focuses on optimizing the two Rotrex superchargers that feed the V8 engine. EDO Competition actually got assistance for this part

from Koenigsegg who helped them modify the drive ratio and to remap the ECU. Edo aimed to increase the power output while keeping the broad torque curve. The result is that the EDO Koenigsegg CCR develops 891 hp. In order to keep the two superchargers alive as much as possible, the engine's redline was lowered to 7,200 rpm.

EDO also revised the six speed gearbox, replacing the plastic bushings with Uniball units. In the end the EDO Koenigsegg CCR has full boost pressure from just 3,700 rpm to 6,000 rpm, powerful

brakes and finely tuned directional stability beyond 300 km/h (186 mph). To get better acceleration, the top speed of the EDO Koenigsegg CCR was reduced from 390 km/h to 242 mph.

Visually, the EDO Koenigsegg CCR has a new front with auxiliary lights, and a new interior with Alcantara, a redesigned center console, a new infotainment system including a reversing camera, and a TPM system that now offers info on the tire pressures and temperatures.

EDO Competition did not disclose the price of their EVO 817 Koenigsegg CCR.
