Larte Builds Custom Tesla Model S Bodykit From Volcanic Rock

Larte Design released today a sketch of their customized Tesla Model S. The Tesla Model S is not a very popular model, so it's a bit odd that an aftermarket specialist will invest the money in the research and development of a custom program for it. Larte announced today that their customized Tesla Model S is going to have its world debut at the Top Marques Monaco, which is going to take place at the Grimaldi Forum from 16 to 19 April 2015. Larte's Tesla Model S comes with a much more aggressive exterior design than the standard vehicle. At the front, it retains just the headlights. The front grille and the bumper are completely redesigned with broader openings, a carbon splitter and an overall more masculine look. There's also a new set of side skirts, and re-styled side vents.

Even though it can't be seen in this sketch, we're pretty sure Larte redesigned the Tesla's rear end too.

The truly interesting part of Larte's Tesla Model S is the material used for building its body kit. It is called basalt fiber and it is made from natural lava rock. Larte says that even though it comes from, well, basically, rock, it is still lightweight, just as carbon fiber is. Larte says that the front bumper of their Tesla Model S weighs just 13kg, including accessories.

We'll have more details about Larte's Tesla Model S at the time of its public premiere.
