Matt LeBlanc joins Chris Evans on new Top Gear

BBC announced today that actor Matt LeBlanc is going to join Chris Evans as host on Top Gear. As a reminder, last year the BBC fired, more or less, Jeremy Clarkson, after a so-called "fracas" with one of the producers. As a result, Jezza's co-hosts and friends, James May and Richard Hammond, also chose to leave the show. After all the commotion created by this event, the BBC went on and announced Chris Evans as the first member of the show's new cast. Afterwards, the British Broadcasting Company advertised a talent search to fill in the rest of the positions, but to no avail. The latest development in the story is that Matt LeBlanc, a.k.a. Joey Tribbiani from the 1990s NBC hit sitcom Friends, is going to be featured in the new version of Top Gear. Matt is a well known car enthusiast, and a rather good driver.

As you'll be able to see in the video lower down this page, he did pretty well in the "reasonably-priced car".

The third position in the Top Gear cast, besides The Stig, is uncertain at the moment. Rumor has it that the BBC is considering German Nurburgring guru Sabine Schmitz and automotive journalist Chris Harris for the spot. Former Formula 1 icon David Coulthard is also taken into consideration. We'll have more details about BBC's Top Gear as soon as they're available.

Meanwhile, Jezza (Jeremy Clarkson), Hamster (Richard Hammond) and Captain Slow (James May) are preparing a new show on Amazon. We're looking forward to it.
