Elon Musk finally revealed the long-awaited, affordable, electric car, the Tesla Model 3. So far, its technical specifications have not been released. However, Tesla says the Model 3 has a range of 215 miles, and that it can get from zero to 60 mph in under 6 seconds. It can seat 5 adults, and it promises to have a 5-star safety rating. The Tesla Model 3 will also benefit from the Supercharger network as standard. Tesla expects their network of recharging stations to double from 7,200 by the end of next year. Tesla also mentions they plan to increase their support and service facilities. During the unveiling, Elon Musk said Tesla already has 115,000 pre-orders for the Model 3. He also mentioned Tesla doesn't build slow cars.
The price of the Tesla Model 3 is going to start at $35,000, before government tax incentives. We'll have more details about the Model 3 as soon as Tesla makes them available.
