The new GMC Canyon (2015) midsize pick-up truck had its world debut this week during the opening days of the 2014 North American International Auto Show. The GMC Canyon is going to be sold with a choice between two engines: a standard 2.5-liter I-4 developing 193 hp (146 kW) and 184 lb-ft of torque (253 Nm), and a 3.6-liter with a horsepower output of 302 hp (224 kW) and 270 lb-ft of torque (366 Nm). Both engines of the GMC Canyon feature an aluminum block, a forged-steel crankshaft, dual-overhead camshafts and jet-spray piston cooling. The GMC Canyon is going to be available with a manual or an automatic 6-speed transmission, with 2WD and with 4WD. GMC is going to sell the Canyon in three versions: Extended Cab (6'2" box), Crew Cab (5'2" box) and Crew Cab (6'2" box).

The GMC Canyon is rated with a maximum payload of 1,450 lb. / 657 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 6,700 lb. / 3,039 kg. GMC plans to offer the Canyon with a Duramax 2.8L turbodiesel engine from 2016.

The new 2015 GMC Canyon comes equipped with a CornerStep rear bumper design, an EZ Lift-and-Lower locking tailgate, two-tier loading, thirteen reconfigurable and four stationary tie-down locations, bed rail and tailgate protectors an a factory-installed spray-in bed liner.



For the interior of the Canyon, GMC is offering an 8-inch color touch screen and multiple USB ports, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hot spot, OnStar and IntelliLink enhancements, Siri Eyes Free Mode for iPhone users and sat nav.
