The engine and gearbox specifications of the new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and the 2015 GMC Canyon pickup trucks have been revealed today. Both the new Chevy Colorado (2015) and the ne GMC Canyon (2015) are powered by the same engine. It is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that develops 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. If you want a more powerful engine, you can also get a 3.6-liter V6 powertrain that has a horsepower output of 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with dual-overhead camshafts with variable valve timing, direct injection, and jet-spray piston cooling, while aluminum blocks and forged-steel crankshafts. Chevrolet's 2015 Colorado and GMC's 2015 Canyon pick-up trucks both have a maximum towing capacity of 7,000 pounds.
GM equips the new Colorado (2015) and the new Canyon (2015) with six-speed automatic gearbox. Both trucks are available with a 6-speed manual transmission too. The new automatic gearbox comes with auto grade braking and tow/haul mode.
The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon's price is going to be announced at a later date.
