Honda AC X

The Honda AC-X concept had its world debut today at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. The AC-X concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, and is designed for long journeys, alongside the family and friends. AC-X means Advanced Cruiser Experience, and you can't have a real cruiser without and automatic driving mode. It's not clear at this moment just how automatic this driving mode really is. However, Honda did disclose some interesting facts about this new system. Apparently, they previously tested it on one of their Formula 1 racecars and were happy with the results. Now, what does one of the fastest racecars in the world have to do with an environmentally friendly, hybrid family car? This is a bit of a puzzle for us.

The Honda AC-X will be produced in a limited run next year. All the units will be used for public testing. We'll have more details on the Honda AC-X as soon as they're available.
