Honda released new details and specs regarding the future 2015 Civic Type R, ahead of the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Honda's stand at the show is going to feature a new version of the 2015 Honda Civic Type R's concept, which is finished in blue. According to Honda's official specifications, the future Type R Civic (2015) is going to be powered by a 2.0 liter i-VTEC turbocharged engine that develops 280 PS. The engine is going to be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and it's going to rev up to 7,000 rpm. Honda mentions the fact that the 2015 Civic Type R is going to be equipped with a four-point adaptive damper system and a '+R' mode for enhanced on-track driving thrills. The '+R' mode is going to be activated using a button located on the Civic's steering wheel.

In '+R' mode, the 2015 Civic Type R gets a new torque-mapping and more responsive steering.

To minimize the 2015 Civic Type R's torque steer, Honda equips their new hot hatch with a system called 'steer axis'. This system involves two supporting 'kingpins' l=integrated into the Civic's front suspension. We'll have more specs regarding the 2015 Honda Civic Type R as soon as they're available.
