Honda has finally revealed the production version of the 2016 Civic Type R at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The 2016 Honda Civic Type R's price starts at 29,995 GBP and it goes up to 32,295 GBP for the top of the range GT version. Honda announced that the 2016 Civic Type R will go on sale this July. The 2016 Honda Civic Type R is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that, according to the official specs, develops 310 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The official specifications aloe state that the new Honda Civic Type R (2016) is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds and that it can reach a top speed of 270 km/h.
Honda equips the new Civic Type R (2016) with a four-point Adaptive Damper System, and Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers and 350 mm discs. With more than 300 hp on the front axle there's bound to be a rather large amount of torque steer. Honda says that the 2016 Civic Type R's Dual Axis Strut Front Suspension is able to reduce that by up to 50 percent. The new Civic Type R (2016) is also equipped with a so-called a rear "crushed pipe", which improves the roll rigidity by 180 percent. The new hot Civic is also equipped with a Dual Pinion Electric Power Steering system.
