The Hyundai Genesis Hurricane SC was announced today to debut at the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The Genesis Hurricane SC is based on the coupe version of the model. It is the product of the collaboration between Hyundai America Technical Center Inc., Magnuson Products, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International and Torvec Inc. With so many names involved, the Genesis Hurricane SC should prove to be a showstopper. Hyundai says that they've been developing the Genesis Hurricane SC for the last tow years.
The Hyundai Genesis Hurricane SC is powered by the coupe's standard 3.8-liter V6 engine, which has received a Magnuson supercharger and now develops 450 hp. The engine is also equipped with a liquid to air intercooler.
The Genesis Hurricane SC's new supercharger is good for 6-7 pounds of boost, which is responsible for an extra 35-45% horsepower.
Hyundai's Genesis Hurricane SC is equipped with an IsoTorque differential, which improves its cornering capabilities. Hyundai says that the new diff can offer up to 1 second each lap.
The Genesis Hurricane SC is fitted with new aerodynamics provided by RMR. They include a front bumper, grille, hood, side skirts, diffuser and the rear deck with spoiler. The Genesis Hurricane SC also features Enkei 19-inch alloys, Hankook tires, and RMR free flowing exhaust system and air intake. The LED lights are developed by FlyRyde.
At the interior, the Genesis Hurricane receives a Harman International Lexicon audio system, and Katzkin premium leather and suede seats.
The car sits on Bilstein monotube shock absorbers and springs with adjustable ride height, and Brembo brakes with cross-drilled front and rear discs. The engine also received a SPEC lightweight single mass aluminum flywheel and stage two clutch, DeatschWerks high flow fuel pump and 600cc injectors, Perma-Cool oil, differential and steering coolers and a custom CPR Fabrication billet aluminum oil filter adapter.
