Kia unveiled today the 3-door version of the Picanto, which will go on sale in the UK from September 1st, 2011. The 2012 Kia Picanto model range is the first version of the mini to offer a 3-door version, which comes in four trim levels: Air, Halo EcoDynamics, Halo Auto and Equinox. In terms of engines, the Kia Picanto 3-door will offer a choice between a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol, developing 68 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm, and a 1.25-litre Kappa engine with an output of 84 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 121Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
Thanks to its small engines, the three-door Kia Picanto offers very good fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The 1 liter version is rated at 99 g/km of CO2 and a 67.3 mpg fuel consumption,
while the 1.25-liter model can offer an up to 65.7 mpg fuel consumption in the combined cycle with a 100 g/km CO2 emissions level.
The standard equipment of the 3-door Picanto includes a trip computer, height-adjustable seat, a tilt-adjustable steering column and Motor Driven Power Steering. Its entertainment system includes an RDS radio and CD player with MP3 compatibility. The Kia Picanto 3-door comes with 14-nich alloy wheels, heated steering wheel, reverse parking sensors, alloy pedals and a Supervision Cluster.
The safety system of the Picanto 3-door include electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and an emergency brake assist system (BAS).
The Kia Picanto 3-door price list starts at 7,795 GBP and goers up to 11,695 GBP for the top of the range 1.25 Equinox version.
