Land Rover took everybody by surprise today when they revealed the sport version of the DC100 concept. The Land Rover DC100 Sport concept previews the future generation of the Defender, which should be here in a few years' time. The DC100 Sport is Land Rover's way of investigating future design possibilities, and even though it will probably not make into production in its current form, some of its styling details will. The Sport version of the Land Rover DC100 is meant to demonstrate the model's versatility and various capabilities.

The Land Rover DC100 Sport features several new technologies, such as the Terrain-i scanning device which warns the driver of obstacles in front of the 4x4, and the Wade Aid sonar system

which helps the driver determine the depth of the water. Land Rover also equips the DC100 Sport with the latest generation Terrain Response system, and a Driver-activated spiked tire system.

The exterior design of the DC100 Sport concept is inspired by Land Rover's canvas-roofed Defender, and it comes with a fold-down windshield, wraparound aero screen and cut-down side windows. The DC100 Sport features a humped fastback roof line and comes in an amber metallic exterior finish. The sport DC100 features also comes with the hand-patterned Pirelli tires.



At the interior, Land Rover fitted the DC100 Sport with seats covered in a protective material and Bridge of Weir leather. It also features Ombrae floor mats. This is a dynamic 3D material changes its appearance depending on the light falling on it.

For better off-road capabilities, the Land Rover DC100 Sport is equipped with a third-generation MagneRide adjustable suspension, advanced telematics, and a Park Assist system.

To power the DC100 Sport, Land Rover chose a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to an

8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Unfortunately, Land Rover is keeping secret the engine's specifications. What the company does mention is that the DC100 Sport comes with Start / Stop technology, Torque Vectoring and Driveline Disconnect.
