Lexus revealed today the details of the new LF-Gh concept, which will have its global debut at the 2011 NY auto show. Lexus says that the new LF-Gh concept previews the brand's future design language which centers around its new "spindle" front grille. The Lexus LF-Gh is a four-door luxury grand tourer measuring 4,890 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, and 1,450 mm in height. The LF-Gh has a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
The Lexus LF-Gh is powered by the company's hybrid drive system. Unfortunately though, Lexus is keeping its specifications secret at the moment. Lexus built the LF-Gh on a front engine / rear-wheel-drive architecture.
In terms of exterior design, Lexus went for a
bold and dynamic look with the LF-Gh. The concept shows a wide stance, and promises high performance levels. At the same time, the Lexus LF-Gh wants to offer comfort and generous interior space for four occupants.
Lexus equipped the LF-Gh concept with twin-spoke 20-inch wheels, LED fog lamps and headlamps together with L-shaped daytime running lights.
If Lexus wouldn't have mentioned that the LF-Gh is a design concept, we would have believed they are aiming to enter the large, premium saloon market. Judging from the looks and dimensions of the Lexus LF-Gh, its production version could become a competitor for the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes S Class.
