Lotus revealed today the Elise Cup 250, which is the fastest version of the small sports car ever built. The Lotus Elise Cup 250 is powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder supercharged engine that delivers 243 hp (246 PS) (181 kW) at 7200 rpm and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque between 3500 rpm and 5500 rpm. With this engine, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 154 mph (248 km/h). Its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have not been announced yet. The car weighs just 931 kg or 921 kg with the carbon aero pack installed. The engine of the Elise Cup 250 is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
In comparison to its predecessor, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 is 21 kg lighter and it has 26 hp more. The Elise Cup 250 comes with carbon fiber seats, and lighter Lithium-ion battery and lighter forged alloy wheels. To further reduce the weight of the car you can order the carbon pack, which includes a front splitter, a rear wing, a rear diffuser and side floor-extensions.
As standard, the Elise Cup 250 comes as a roadster, but Lotus is able to provide an optional hard-top too. The new version of the sports car comes with the Lotus Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) that provides a Sport mode, a recalibrated ignition system, wider tires, and more-responsive steering. Its aerodynamics have also been improved. The Elise Cup 250 is able to generate as much as 66kg of downforce at 100mph and 155 kg at 154 mph.
The equipment list of the Lotus Elise Cup 250 adjustable front anti-roll bar, Bilstein sports dampers and Eibach coaxial coil springs and double wishbone suspension. The car is also equipped with AP Racing twin-piston front calipers, and Brembo single-piston rear calipers, as well as 16-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with Yokohama AO48 tires. At the interior, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 offers an Alcantara or leather upholstery, and an in-car entertainment system.
