In the latest episode of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson gets to drive and review the new Lotus Exos T125. In case you're not familiar with the T128, you must know that it is the only Formula 1 car you can buy and race for your own. Lotus will even provide a technical crew and a huge truck to carry it and all the equipment from one track to the other. All this fun comes at a cost however. Lotus will charge you around 1 million USD to give you the chance of owning your very own Formula 1 car.
The Lotus Exos T125 is powered by a 650 hp V8 engine developed by Cosworth which revs up to 10,300 rpm. You'll probably say at this point that 650 hp are not actually that much these days. However, the T125 weighs only 650kg.
Some simple math will tell you this is a 1000 hp / ton power-to-weight ratio.
