Believe it or not, the 571 hp of the Mercedes SLS are not enough for some people. Why do we say that? Because Mcchip, a well known tuner, recently developed an ECU upgrade for the SLS, which ups to Gullwing's power to 625 bhp and 680 Nm of torque. Kubatech, a German aftermarket specialist, is offering Mcchip's new power kit at a price of 8026,00 EUR. Well, when you pay 180,000 EUR for a supercar, paying eight thousand Euros to stand out from a crowd, does not seem like much. Imagine two SLS AMGs at a red light. Wait, how often will that happen?
We appreciate the work that goes into this, but what an ECU-only power upgrade does, is narrow the power / torque curve. This means that you get more power, but for a narrower rev range.
So essentially, you'll have to be a more talented driver, to get the most out of your car.
