According to a recent rumor started by the North American press, a Mini Cooper minivan is in the works, which they call a space concept. The new Mini Cooper minivan space concept will be based on the same platform and chassis as the Countryman. However, the Mini Cooper space concept will not be a minivan in the full sense of the word. It will be more like a mini-minivan.
The version of the vehicle will try to max out the space offered by the Countryman chassis and will be able to hold more people and cargo. This development will give the Mini Cooper minivan the van body style. The new model will have a slightly longer wheelbase, since the platform allows it to, but don't expect a third row of seats.
The engines of the Mini Cooper minivan, in case it will enter production, will probably be the same as the ones offered on the Countryman. Don't expect a JCW version though.
