Nurburgring History Video

 »  »  »

The Nurburgring race track was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nurburg in Germany. The Nurburgring race track is more than 28 km long while the famous Nordschleife is 22 km long. The race track has been closed for FIA competitions but it remains open for the public. This is where almost all cars are tested and here are almost all spy shots taken.

Alberto Ascari, Juan Manuel Fangio, Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart (who named it the Green Hell), Jacky Ickx and Ayrton Senna all raced on the Nurburgring. However a lot of drivers lost their life here starting with the first fatal accident that took place back in 1928.

The Nurburgring history, impressions of people who know the circuit well and impressive driving shots - you can find them all in the video after the jump.
