General Motors has announced today that it will unveil the new Opel GTC Paris Concept at this year's edition of the Paris Motor Show (October 2 – 17). The company did not release any details regarding the new Opel GTC Paris Concept, except the fact that it will combine Speed and Beauty. The Opel GTC Paris Concept seems to be inspired by the words of Richard Bach from his famous novel Jonathan Livingston Seagull - "And the speed was pure beauty". GM says that these words are so in tone with the Opel GTC Paris Concept that they even laser-etched them in the upholstery of the seats.

The name of the Opel GTC Paris Concept is meant to inspire performance combine with the character of the fashionable European city where it will debut.

The Opel GTC Paris Concept is a expressive, sporty compact hatchback that they say has dramatic proportions and sculptural surfaces.

Over the last few months, various Opel hatchback prototypes have been spotted testing on the Nurburgring. We bet at least one of them, if not both, are the Opel GTC Paris Concept. If we're right, the Opel GTC Paris Concept could be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine developing just under 200 hp, it will be based on the Astra and will come with a new aerodynamics package.

The Opel GTC Paris Concept could have a double exhaust pipes and a rear diffuser.
