UPDATE 2: Exclusive real life images of the Prong 3 trike added.

UPDATE: Mr. Quan has just sent us additional information on the Prong 3 trike. He pointed out that the Prong 3 is only 100 lbs (45kg) heavier than the CanAm Spyder, so its performance figures are not diminished by much.

Aside from this, the Prong 3 trike's standard engine, which in the CanAm outputs 106 hp, got a little extra umpf. They gave it a Leo Vince aftermarket exhaust system which should definitely add a few horsepowers to that output figure.

Mr. Quan also pointed out that the Prong 3 trike's

designer is none other than Iulian Bumbu, which some of you might remember from the Lamborghini Insecta Concept he designed a while back.

In the latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage, Mr. Leno presents the Prong 3 trike, or three-wheel vehicle, which, for those of you familiar with this type of motoring, is based on the CanAm. The Prong 3 trike is the brainchild of Hong Quan, an American inventor, who worked in collaboration with BRP and Lotus engineer Eric Gauthier.

The Prong 3 trike is a two-seater, with two wheels at the front and one at the rear, built on a steel tubular frame chassis.

The Prong 3 trike was inspired by Volkswagen and its GX3 3-wheeler concept from back in 2006. The Prong 3 trike is powered by the same engine as the CanAm, which means it outputs 103 hp. However, the Prong 3 trike is heavier than the vehicle its based on, so its performance figures are not a match for the insane CanAm. However, the Prong 3 trike is definitely more practical, and probably safer too.
