Back in 1959, the Ventil magazine said about the Skoda Octavia: Our new vehicle has a new name too – the Skoda Octavia, as it is the eighth model produced by our nationalized industry.

The Skoda Octavia was the first model developed internally, after the company was taken over in 1989 by Volkswagen. The second version of the Skoda Octavia was introduced in 2000.

The second generation of the Skoda Octavia was introduced in 2004 and was facelifted in 2008.
