Skoda revealed today the new generation 2013 Octavia, which comes with new exterior and interior styling, more efficient engines and additional equipment. In comparison to its predecessor, the 2013 Skoda Octavia comes with a cleaner exterior design, with re-styled headlights, a new front bumper with integrated fog lights, a modified hood, a new front grille and badge. Skoda also re-designed the rear of the 2013 Octavia, which features new tail lights, a modified boot lid and amore chiseled bumper. The new Skoda Octavia (2013) has a more refined interior, with higher quality materials, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a new center console and dials. Apart from the new design, the new Octavia (2013) offers more room for its passengers and their luggage.
It has 1,782 mm of interior length, more knee room (73 mm) and more headroom at the back (980 mm). It comes with a 590-litre boot. These new dimensions are made possible by the fact that the 2013 Octavia is 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider than its predecessor. The new sedan is 100 kg lighter than its predecessor.
The equipment list of the new 2013 Skoda Octavia includes a Front Assistant/emergency braking function, Lane Assistant, Crew Protect Assistant, Driver Activity Assistant (fatigue detection) and nine airbags.
For the 2013 Octavia, Skoda is also offering the Adaptive Cruise Assistant, the Intelligent Light Assistant, the Automatic Parking Assistant, a panoramic sliding/tilting sunroof and keyless entry.
Skoda is going to sell the 2013 Octavia with a choice between four TDI common-rail diesel engines and four TSI petrol engines. Apart from the entry level versions, all of them come with a start-stop system and recuperation. The 2013 Octavia 1.8 TSI develops 132 kW. The version of the popular sedan is going to be available with an automatic DSG transmission and with all-wheel-drive. The 2013 Octavia GreenLine has a 1.6 TDI engine (81 kW) that promises a 3.4 liters per 100 km fuel economy and an 89 g/km CO2 emissions level. The 2013 Octavia RS is coming, but Skoda did not yet disclose its secrets.
