Stretched Jaguar E Type

This stretched Jaguar E-Type is going to have its world debut in in London later this week. Built as a restoration project, this stretched E-Type is 4.5 inches longer than Jaguar originally built it. To complement their stretched E-Type, Classic Motor Cars Limited of Bridgnorth (CMC), the company that restored it, also built a complementary trailer for it, which is styled just like the Jag. The stretched Jaguar E-Type is based on the series 1 4.2 roadster version and it was built for an USA-based customer. To create the trailer, CMC joined two E-Type rear ends together. The trailer is connected to the car through a removable tow hitch. When the hitch is not in use, its aperture is hidden by the Jag's reversing light.

The reason behind this stretched E-Type is that its owner, Paul Branstad, wanted the legroom offered by the Series 3 V12 and the styling of the Series 1.

The stretched Jaguar E-Type has a 4.5-inch longer floor pan, a 1.25-inch higher roof line, and a lowered boot floor, required for the 20 gallon fuel tank. The stretched E-Type is fitted with 16-inch wire wheels, low profile tires, air conditioning, power steering, bigger brakes, a 5-speed transmission, and an upgraded suspension.

The stretched Jaguar E-Type's price has not been disclosed yet.
