Suzuki offered today a preview of their new G70 concept, which will have its European premiere at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in a few weeks. The concept was originally premiered at the 2011 Tokyo auto show, under the REGINA name. The G70 previews Suzuki's future global compact car, which might take the place of the Swift in the carmaker's model line-up. The Suzuki G70 weighs just 730kg thanks to some clever weight reduction technologies, and improved aerodynamics. Suzuki says about the G70 is at least 10% more aerodynamic than all its current A-segment models.

When powered by the petrol engine, the Suzuki G70 has a 70g/km CO2 emissions level, as measured in the European Driving Cycle.

Unfortunately, Suzuki did not disclose any of the new engine's specifications.

We'll have more information on the Suzuki G70 at the time of the Geneva motor show.

Apart from the G70, Suzuki will also display in Geneva the new Swift Range Extender. The Suzuki Swift Range Extender comes with an electric motor, which offers a 30 km autonomy, and an engine-driven generator.
