The Toyota Prius C was unveiled this week, ahead of its debut, which will take place at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show. In the USA, the Toyota Prius C will be premiered at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), before going to sale later the same year. With the Prius C, known as AQUA on some markets, Toyota aims to offer its Hybrid Synergy Drive technology to a new segment of buyers. The Toyota Prius C offers seating for five and measures 3995mm in length, 1695mm in width, and 1445mm in height. It has a 2550mm wheelbase 2550mm. Toyota says that the Prius C is rated with a 50-mpg fuel consumption in the city, which puts it at the top of the non-plug-in vehicle list. The Prius C manages to give such good mileage mainly with the help of its powertrain.

However, its aerodynamics, together with other systems, also have an important role in reducing its environmental signature.

The Toyota Prius C is powered by a hybrid system, which includes 1.5-litre petrol engine, which works together with en electric motor.

The equipment list of Toyota's C Prius includes Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, steering-wheel audio controls, and nine airbags.



Optionally, the Prius C can be equipped with Toyota's Entune multimedia system, which integrates Smartphone connectivity, navigation, entertainment, and information services.
