Volkswagen announced today that it will soon launch the Scirocco GTS, which is going to be a less expensive, and less powerful, alternative to the Scirocco R. The Volkswagen Scirocco GTS hides under its hood the same 2.0 TSI engine, which outputs in this case 155 kW / 210 hp. VW's new GTS is meant to revive the Scirocco GT, which was launched around 30 years ago. The VW Scirocco GTS features the same retro styling as the racing cars of the '70s and '80s. It features "go-faster" stripes along the bonnet, roof and rear, and a roof spoiler. The Scirocco GTS also comes with redesigned front and rear bumpers, flared side skirts, body-color side moldings and a rear diffuser. The car sits on 18-inch alloys finished in black, and it features various badges and other styling elements.
The black interior of the Volkswagen Scirocco GTS is highlighted by the red stitching on the seats, the handbrake and the sports steering wheel. The price and the availability of the new Scirocco GTS have not been announced yet.
