Volvo revealed today the new S60 Cross Country, which is going to have its world debut next week at the 2015 NAIAS in Detroit. The Cross Country is basically a lifted version of the Volvo S60. It has a 65mm (2.5 inches) higher ground clearance than the regular S60 and a few other modifications. The Volvo S60 Cross Country is powered by the T5 engine and it comes with all-wheel-drive. The horsepower output of this engine varies depending on the market. In the U.S. and Canada it puts out 250 bhp. In Europe it develops 254 hp and in Russia 249 hp (for various tax reasons). The S60 Cross Country is Volvo's first luxury sedan to offer the same level of capability and rugged design cues as an all-terrain vehicle.

Volvo equips the S60 Cross Country with 18- or 19-inch wheels, and high profile tires. We'll have more details about the Cross Country version of the S60 next week.
