Volvo announced today the V60 Plug-in Hybrid's price list for the United Kingdom market, where it will go on sale at the beginning of 2012. Volvo plans to build only 1,000 cars / year, starting from November 2012. All of them will come in the highest SE Lux trim level and with a Pure Limited specification. The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid comes with an innovative powertrain, which includes 2.4-litre turbo diesel, 5-cylinder engine and an electric motor which powers the car's rear axle. The V60 hybrid's combustion engine outputs 215 hp and 440 Nm of torque, while the electric motor is good for an additional 70 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque.

Volvo rates the hybrid V60 with a zero to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 6.2 seconds.

The party piece of the V60 hybrid is its efficiency. According to Volvo's official specs, it offers a fuel consumption of just 1.9-liters / 100 km/h and a 49 g/km CO2 emissions level. When running at speeds of 50 km/h or less, the hybrid V60 has zero emissions, since it can operate in electric only mode.

The complete specifications of the Volvo V60 hybrid are available here.

The Volvo V60 price will be set somewhere between £45,000 GBP and £50,000 GBP. We can't tell you at this moment exactly how much it will cost you, since you'll probably benefit from a tax exemption too.
