BMW released recently a so-called spy video that shows some of its DTM racing drivers taking the 2014 M3 and the M4 for a spit around the Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany. Both, the BMW M4 and the new 2014 BMW M3 prototypes are still covered in camouflage tape. So, we can't really distinguish their design details yet. The DTM drivers you see here having fun in the new M cars are Timo Glock and Bruno Spengler. According to recent rumors, new M4 and M3 Bimmers are both going to be powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with twin-turbocharging and direct injection. The 2014 M3 and the M4 are expected to have a horsepower output of 430 hp at 7,500 rpm and around 500 nm of torque. In comparison to the current generation model, the 2014 BMW M3 sedan is expected to have as much as 25% less CO2 emissions and to require 25% less fuel. According to BMW, the future M3 (2014) is going to weigh less than 1,500 kg, which is quite an achievement for a four-door sedan of its size. Some BMW officials suggested that a lighter version of the 2014 M3 is expected to weigh around 1,400 kg. They could be talking to the future M3 CSL.
We'll have more details regarding the BMW M4 and the new M3 (2014) as soon as the Bavarian carmaker makes them available.
