For the purpose of this review, the BMW M235i is being tested on the race track. The M235i is being reviewed by DTM driver Andy Priaulx, who won the World Touring Car Championship three times so far. This means we'll get a professional’s view about the M235i. In the hands of a regular driver, the Bimmer might offer a different impression. The recently unveiled BMW M235i is powered by the highly acclaimed 3.0-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine, which in this application, develops 322 bhp between 5,800 rpm and 6,000 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque between 1,300 rpm and 4,500 rpm. According to BMW's official specifications, the M235i is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.8 seconds. The M235i's maximum speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The M235i comes with a fast-shifting 8-speed automatic gearbox. The M235i is going to be sold with a manual transmission too, but this version of the Bimmer requires 5.0 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h).
In this review, Priaulx is driving the automatic version of the M235i. Since he's driving on the track, he can make full use of the M235i's torque-sensitive limited-slip differential.
Even though this review seems to offer an unbiased opinion on the M235i, we have to take into consideration that the clip has been posted on BMW UK's official YouTube channel.
