BMW revealed at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este last weekend the new 2002 Hommage concept, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 02 Series. This new concept pays homage to the BMW 2002 turbo, which was the first turbocharged production vehicle manufactured in Europe. The BMW 2002 Hommage is a two door coupe with quite a striking and aggressive looking exterior design. The BMW 2002 Hommage features a long wheelbase, short overhangs and a contoured "shark nose". The concept features large spoilers at the front and rear, and massive air intakes. The BMW 2002 Hommage comes with a horizontal carbon band, a matt finish on the roof, bonnet and boot lid, while the lower part of the concept features a high-gloss paintwork.

The BMW 2002 Hommage comes with muscular looking wheel arches, 20-inch alloys with a two-tone finish, and a re-styled front kidney grille. BMW also gave their new 2002 Hommage concept hidden door handles, low side skirts, and distinctive LED rear lights. Other distinctive elements of the BMW 2002 Hommage include an integrated rear spoiler, a carbon rear diffuser, four massive exhaust tail pipes, and high-performance brakes with gold calipers.

So far, BMW did not mention whether or not the 2002 Hommage will go into production.
