BMW revealed today the new 2 Series Coupe, which will go on sale in January 2014 in the USA and in March 2014 in the UK. Other markets will get the new 2 Series at various other dates. The BMW 2 Series Coupe is going to replace the 1 Series coupe. It is significantly larger, offering more space for its passengers and their luggage. The BMW 2 Series measures 174.5 inches (4,432 mm) in length, 69.8 inches (1,774 mm) in width, and it has a 105.9-inch (2,690 mm) long wheelbase. The BMW 2 Series is going to be available in several versions, including the range-topping BMW M235i. The M235i is powered by the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine that develops 322 hp at 5,800 – 6,000 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque at 1,300 – 4,500 rpm.
With this engine, the BMW M235i is able to get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds and to reach a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The M235i comes with an 8-speed sport automatic transmission and it's rated with a 25 mpg combined fuel economy.

The United States market will also get the BMW 228i Coupe which is powered by a 2.0-liter engine with TwinPower Turbo technology that develops 240 hp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 1,250 – 4,500 rpm. The 228i is rated with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 5.4 seconds.
In the UK, the BMW 2 Series is priced from £25,040 GBP for the 220i and from £25,865 for the 220d. The BMW M235i's price for the UK starts at £34,250. In the USA, the BMW 228i's price starts at $33,025, while the M235i is going to cost you at least $44,025. You should ask you BMW dealership to get pricing information for your country.
The BMW 2 Series comes with EfficientDynamics, which means it is equipped with Air Curtains, an Auto Start/Stop function, an ECO PRO mode and a coasting function (8-speed automatic transmission versions). The 2 Series comes with variable sport steering, an M Sport braking system, Adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, DSC stability control system including DTC and an electronic locking function for the rear differential and a mechanical limited slip differential.
The 2 Series is available with all of BMW's driver assistance systems. These include High Beam Assistant, Adaptive Headlights, Parking Assistant, rear view camera, Driving Assistant, cruise control system with braking function, extended integration of smartphones and music players, Advanced Real Time Traffic Information (ARTTI).
