
Autocar managed to get their hands on some new 2011 BMW 3 Series info. Regarding the engines, the 2011 BMW 3 Series will be available with new turbo three cylinder engines with the gasoline versions developing around 170 lb.-ft. of torque and the diesels 220 lb.-ft.. both gasoline and diesel engines of the 2011 BMW 3 Series should output around 150 hp.
The 2011 BMW 3 Series will also bring new aerodynamics which will include the Air Curtain. This will smooth the airflow around the wheels reducing drag.
Regarding the running gear of the 2011 BMW 3 Series, Autocar believes the German carmaker will employ the use of an electric hybrid assist system on the rear axle.
Apparently, the next generation 2011 BMW 3 Series will also use an eight-speed automatic transmission which will replace the dual-clutch automated manual gearbox.
