New info regarding the future generation 2012 Audi RS4 Avant surfaced the web today, as a test mule was spied during testing. The prototype seems based on the current version of the S4 Avant, but is shows various aerodynamic modifications usually related to the RS4. These include large air intakes in the front apron, large wheels with performance tires and updated brakes with ventilated discs. The 2012 S4 Avant prototype also shows a roof spoiler and a lower ride height.
When the Audi RS5 was first launched, many though it will replace the RS4 in the company's lineup. The new spy image come to confirm that the Audi RS4 will have a new generation model.
Our sources believe that Audi will equip the 2012 RS4 Avant with a newly developed 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8. This new unit will output anything between 450 hp and 500 hp. The same engine that will go in the 2012 RS4 Avant, will also be used in the Audi RS6 and RS7, but with higher horsepower output.
