The Mercedes-Benz announced today the 2012 SLK55 AMG's price list for the UK market, as the new latest generation model goes on sale here. The 2012 SLK55 is powered by AMG's new 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine and features a completely new interior and exterior design. The 2012 SLK55 also features a sport suspension system, performance brakes, and all of Mercedes’ latest innovations in terms of safety and comfort.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG hides under its hood a 5.5-liter V8 with an output of 421hp at 6,800rpm and 540Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The 2012 SLK55 is rated with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds. Unfortunately, its top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.
The new SLK55 offers 30% improved emissions and fuel consumption. Mercedes says it can offer up to 33.6mpg with a 195g/km CO2 emissions level. This is partially the merit of the 2012 SLK55's AMG Cylinder Management System.
The 2012 Mercedes SLK55 AMG UK price list starts at £54,950 GBP on-the-road. This is only the base price. The various optional equipment will cost you extra. For instance, the AMG Performance Package will cost you £4,105 GBP, while the AMG Driver’s Package will raise the bar to £2,755 GBP. The AMG Performance Package for the 2012 Mercedes SLK55 includes revised suspension and brakes and a rear differential lock. The AMG Driver's Package removes the top speed limiter.
