The new 2016 Audi R8 LMS races into Geneva with more power and less weight. The new 2016 Audi R8 LMS is 25 kg lighter than its predecessor. This means it weighs 1,225 kg. Apart from being lighter, the new Audi r8 LMS (2016) comes with a 39 percent stiffer body. It is powered by the 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 585 hp. The engine is coupled with a six-speed transmission with paddle shifters. The R8 LMS is the first GT3 class race car to feature a crash element made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. This new crash element is required by the latest FIA safety regulations. The 2016 R8 LMS is fitted with a Protection Series PS1 seat, which is connected directly to the chassis. This improves stiffness and gives the driver a better feel of the car.

The new R8 LMS (2016) is fitted with a rescue hatch, a quick-adjustable foot lever and an adjustable steering column.

The price of the 2016 Audi R8 LMS has not been announced yet, but the Ingolstadt carmaker says it will go on sale later this year.
