Audi revealed today the facelifted version of their R8 supercar. The 2013 Audi R8 model range includes the basic V8 version, which is available as a coupe and a spyder, the V10, the V10 Spyder and the new Audi R8 V10 plus. The Audi R8 V10 plus is the new top of the range models, which features new 7-speed S tronic transmission, and LED headlights as standard. The new 2013 Audi R8 facelift has the same measurements as its predecessor, meaning 4.44 meters (14.44 ft) long, 1.90 meters (6.23 ft) wide and only 1.25 (4.10 ft) meters high (Spyder: 1.24 meters (4.07 ft)). In terms of exterior design, the new 2013 R8 comes with a redesigned front grille, new LED headlights, a new bumper and a splitter made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). Apart from these obvious visual updates, the 2013 Audi R8 also features a few discreet ones, such as the side blades and mirrors.

The rear of the facelifted R8 (2013) shows new LED lights, a CFRP diffuser and two oval exhaust pipes on all models. There are several exterior colors available, with the Audi R8 V10 plus offering a matt finish too.

Here are the official weights of each model:

- 2013 R8 V8 Coupe: 1,560 kilograms (3439.21 lb)
- 2013 R8 V8 Spyder: 1,660 kilograms (3659.67 lb)
- R8 V10 plus: 1,570 kilograms (3461.26 lb).

To keep the weight of the new 2013 R8 to a minimum, Audi fitted it with glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) chassis and bucket seats, as well as light alloy wheels and other chassis components. The new R8 comes with ceramic brakes. Apart from being light, the new R8 also comes with several aerodynamic enhancements, which give it a drag coefficient of 0.35 or 0.36 depending on the engine version and body style.

Both the V8 and the V10 versions of the 2013 R8 are powered by the same engines as its predecessors, however, the addition of the new 7-speed S tronic gearbox reduces their CO2 emissions by 22 grams/km (35.41 g/mile). The zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint is 0.3 seconds faster. Audi is offering two transmission options for the new 2013 R8: a 6-speed manual and the new S tronic.
